It was a day to remember. Arianna Afsar, the reigning Miss California, not only received a kiss from Allua, a beluga whale at SeaWorld San Diego's Wild Arctic attraction, but also met several of the park's other animal ambassadors during a frigidly fun visit to the Penguin Encounter and while participating in dolphin interaction.
A San Diego native, Arianna was name Miss California in July. Her fans at SeaWorld and throughout the state of California are cheering her on as she prepares to compete in the 2011 Miss America Pageant which will be held in Las Vegas on Jan. 15 at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. The pageant will air live on ABC. Arianna loves to perform and has a beautiful singing voice, just like Allua.
She was a top 36 contestant during Season 8 of “American Idol” a few years ago when she was only 16 years old. Best of luck to Arianna and all the Miss America contestants!
