Everyone has a story - even Shamu. At SeaWorld San Diego, the big guy gives guests a behind-the-scenes glimpse into his world in the educational and entertaining presentation called “The Shamu Story.”
The iconic whale’s story began more than 45 years ago when the first Shamu began to awe and inspire visitors at the San Diego marine-life park. Since then, Shamu has touched the lives of hundreds of millions of people from around the world helping them gain respect and a better appreciation of wildlife and wild places.
The whale’s tale has grown enormously over the past four decades, and Vicki Weber, a senior SeaWorld killer whale trainer, shows you what it’s like to work, train and build a close relationship with these majestic animals. Join her as she and her best friend, 9-year-old Nakai, take you on the Shamu Story.
Let us know what you think of “The Shamu Story” and see if you can answer the age-old question: Which killer whale is Shamu?
