You know Santa Claus is already in town here at SeaWorld San Diego, right? Really, he is here for our “Christmas Celebration.” Why you ask? Well, there’s no other place on earth where you can enjoy holiday merriment loaded with family-fun ventures that brings chills, thrills and Shamu’s Christmas adventures, too!

This year we have a large 6,500-square-foot winter wonderland with snowmen and snowballs a plenty. Every day a 50-ton blizzard of fresh snow falls on SnowWorld at SeaWorld.
Mr. Claus … or better yet Santa, Mrs. Claus, a reindeer, an elf and other magical Christmas characters are sure to put you in the spirit of the holiday season. And a 40-foot Christmas tree with marine-themed ornaments, along with holiday lights and festive Christmas décor throughout SeaWorld, gives you a boatload of picture-perfect spots to snap Christmas photos.
Now of course you can’t leave SeaWorld without taking in holiday-themed animal shows.
I mean, you really have to see California sea lions Clyde and Seamore in their partly self-titled show “Clyde and Seamore’s Night Before Christmas.” This totally funny show makes fun of holiday rituals like present giving, Christmas caroling and dinner. And oh yeah, the sea lions even make fun of New Year’s Eve, too. O.P. Otter, who plays Scrooge, and a really funny guy named Biff, share the stage with Clyde and Seamore.

Shamu, on the other hand, celebrates the real meaning of Christmas with his killer whale comrades, trainers, a cool sign language choir and singers along with a saxophonist. The lights and songs in the big guy’s show, “Shamu’s Christmas,” will definitely put you in the Christmas spirit – it totally did for me and my niece.

And just think … all I had to do was visit Santa and tell him what I wanted for Christmas. Take a look: I hope to see you here at SeaWorld San Diego the next couple of weekends. And if you can’t make it then … don’t fret or be naughty, just be nice – our Christmas Celebration party continues every day Dec. 17 through Jan. 1.
