SeaWorld Orlando’s top designers made a splash of epic proportions this morning at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions’ (IAAPA) Expo 2012, where they revealed the vehicle that will take guests on a first-of-its-kind ride to the frozen south in the park’s 2013 attraction and all-new realm, Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin.
SeaWorld Orlando Park President, Terry Prather, welcomed the crowd of nearly 40 members of the media and built up the suspense and then as the white icy curtain floated to the ground, the ride car was revealed.
SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment Creative Director, Brian Morrow, grabbed the spotlight and provided more details about the special vehicle and how it is the first of its kind in the world, combining a mobile, moving simulator with a completely trackless ride system. These unique cars will allow riders to become one with the storyline of a young penguin’s Antarctic adventures.
Mike Boos, vice president of zoological operations, brought along some feathered friends… the future stars of the new attraction, the penguins! These little stars were a big hit and also were excited to check out the new car!
