Patients from Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego Enjoy Special Dolphin Interaction

by Staff

There's nothing like a dolphin to make you forget your cares. Almost a dozen patients from a local hospital got the chance to do just that recently, when they took part in a special Dolphin Interaction Program hosted by SeaWorld San Diego dolphin trainer, Joy Clausen Soto.

Joy is a cancer survivor and so she knows what it's like to be in the hospital and to undergo intense treatment. Each year leading up to SeaWorld's fund-raising walk for Rady Children's Hospital, Joy hosts patients from the hospital. Instead of taking medicines and giving blood samples, these kids get to touch and feed and get hugs and kisses from dolphins!

If you want to help raise money for families who are battling life-threatening illnesses at Rady Children's Hospital, sign up for the fifth annual SeaWorld Shamu & You Family Walk, taking place on Oct. 1. For more info, visit www.shamuandyouwalk.kintera.org.
