Currently, I help supervise the Animal Ambassador Team (AAT) at SeaWorld Orlando. This is an area of the training department that many of you may not realize exists, but you’ve probably seen in action. You may have interacted with the animals at the SeaGarden, attend a school where we’ve made an educational visit, or seen animals on one of our many appearances on TV.

Before performing live at SeaWorld Orlando’s Viva la Musica this past Saturday, Latin Grammy Award Winner singer Elvis Crespo unexpectedly met two fans from SeaWorld’s sea lion and otter show, Captain Squid and Clyde, a California sea lion.

Everyday SeaWorld hosts thousands of visitors and one of the most common questions asked by our guests is "what is it like to work with animals?" Today, one of our Senior Animal Care Specialists, Kortney, will give you a look into her world with seals and sea lions at the Pacific Point exhibit.

With more than 100 million views to date, the penguin cam at SeaWorld San Diego’s Penguin Encounter is even catching the eye of the Conan O’Brien show. We invited Conan’s sidekick, Andy Richter, down to spend some time with the 300 penguins and see for themselves what all the excitement was about.

After almost 14 years at SeaWorld San Diego, I just learned something new: penguins don’t know how to swim instinctively. In the wild, chicks are left alone to learn, which means waiting for the first one to take a plunge or fall in. But here at SeaWorld the keepers actually give annual swim lessons to the chicks born during the November and December hatching season. In February, about a dozen Adelie, gentoo and macaroni juveniles were secluded inside the Penguin Encounter while their adult plumage grew in.

The SeaWorld San Diego Skytower just had a little work done! The 320-foot tower was recently painted, which means the SeaWorld logo on top also needed to be replaced. So how exactly does our team get a logo way up on the top of that tower? Thanks to the GoPro camera, we are going to show exactly how they do that. Our lucky team of three scenic craftspeople started before the sun even came up and placed not just one but two logos on the Skytower. Caution, if you are scared of heights, you may want to make sure you are sitting down for this:
