Manta Comes Alive More Every Day at SeaWorld San Diego

Every day, Manta comes alive more and more at SeaWorld San Diego: Riding testing on this double-launch coaster has begun; 100,000 gallons of water have filled the aquarium that will eventually house dozens of rays and hundreds of fishes; the ray-themed video that will envelope riders as they begin their immersion into the world of rays has been installed in the launch station; and much of the scenic elements are in place, such as the iconic rockwork and Manta sign and some of the landscaping elements.

You’ve heard of the Bat Signal, right? In “Batman” TV shows and movies, the Gotham City Police would shine a bat-shaped light on a building at night, letting Batman know that they needed his help.

Last Section of Track Installed for SeaWorld San Diego's Manta

After just four months of hard work, a bunch of crane lifting and several hundred nuts and bolts, all 98 sections of track are now in place for our Manta coaster!

Here is a photo of me with the very first piece of track…..It seems like this was installed just yesterday.

Manta Moving Along

It’s amazing how much progress can be made in such a small about of time. Manta made some big moves this week with the placement of some keys pieces of track. Specifically the pieces that make the sweeping 54 ft. drop under the attraction bridge are now in place. Here is a look at the latest progress in the construction of Manta at SeaWorld San Diego.

Another Manta Monday!

I had the opportunity to go check out the Manta construction site and see the progress. It’s amazing how much gets done in just a few days.
