This Saturday on a new episode of Sea Rescue three manatees are trapped in a pond used to control mosquitos in Florida and rescue teams must brave snakes and alligators to save them. Then a sea turtle is found tangled up in a crab pot line off the coast of South Carolina and is in urgent need of help.

This Saturday on Sea Rescue a Great White shark becomes trapped in a lagoon off Cape Cod, Massachusetts and it’s a race against time to save her. Then, a manatee is hit by a boat and a SeaWorld team responds but first they must find her.

Meet Blanche, the Orphaned Manatee Calf Rescued July 2014

For the last week of Manatee Awareness Month we would like to give you an update on our youngest manatee rescue of the year. Last July, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) brought a young manatee orphan weighing only 48 pounds to our facility to receive care and rehabilitation. We’re excited to officially introduce her. Her name is Blanche, and she’s a special girl!

November is Manatee Awareness Month

It's the beginning of November and the SeaWorld team is ready to spread the word about Manatee Awareness Month. Commonly found in Florida waters, manatees are nonaggressive, nonterritorial herbivores that prefer to spend their time in warm tropical and subtropical waters. They spend anywhere between six to eight hours of their day feeding on seagrass and other vegetation.

SeaWorld Orlando Returns Cold-Stun Manatee to Indian River off Merritt Island After Year of Rehabilitation

Yesterday morning, SeaWorld Orlando’s Animal Rescue Team, Sea2Shore and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) returned BMan, a sub-adult male manatee, to the waters off Port St. John in Merritt Island, Fla., after receiving long-termcare and rehabilitation at SeaWorld Orlando for the past year.

The men and women of SeaWorld are true animal advocates. We are the 1,500 scientists, researchers, veterinarians, trainers, marine biologists, aquarists, aviculturists, educators and conservationists who have dedicated our lives to the animals in our care as well as those in the wild that are injured, ill or orphaned. Whether it’s a sea lion, manatee, sea turtle or whale, we are on call 24/7.
