Aquatica is pleased to be hosting the fourth annual Special Olympics Florida Polar Plunge® 2013 on Saturday, February 2. Individuals and teams, alongside Special Olympics athletes, families, sponsors and community members will experience heart-warming and bone chilling-extremes as they take the plunge into the cold Aquatica wave pool to raise money for Special Olympics Florida.

Already tired of the cooler weather that has hit central Florida this past week? Good news! Orlando temperatures will reach the mid 70’s this weekend. What a perfect chance to enjoy all that Aquatica has to offer… before the chill of winter blows in!

Orlando is known as the theme park capital of the world. It’s also known for record-breaking temperatures during the summer. Where might you ask is the best place to cool off? Well, I was on a mission to find out! While on the hunt for the top spot to beat the heat, I visited two locations – the Splash Zone at SeaWorld Orlando’s Shamu Stadium and Walkabout Waters at Aquatica, SeaWorld’s waterpark.

This afternoon at SeaWorld Orlando’s Shamu Stadium, a heartwarming reunion took place right before the start of the One Ocean show. After a year of active duty in Afghanistan, Army Specialist Eric Espinosa reunited with his four-year-old daughter, Alexis.

SeaWorld is amping up our normal Summer Nights festivities with a few additions that are sure to light up your Fourth of July this year! Everyday SeaWorld hosts thousands of visitors and one of the most common questions asked by our guests is "what is it like to work with animals?" Today, one of our Senior Animal Care Specialists, Kortney, will give you a look into her world with seals and sea lions at the Pacific Point exhibit.

The SeaWorld San Diego Skytower just had a little work done! The 320-foot tower was recently painted, which means the SeaWorld logo on top also needed to be replaced. So how exactly does our team get a logo way up on the top of that tower? Thanks to the GoPro camera, we are going to show exactly how they do that. Our lucky team of three scenic craftspeople started before the sun even came up and placed not just one but two logos on the Skytower. Caution, if you are scared of heights, you may want to make sure you are sitting down for this:

The SeaWorld Orlando Community Relations department along with SeaWorld Orlando’s character team recently visited Nemours Clinic in Orlando, Fla. to share lots of smiles, hugs and hive fives with hospitalized children and their families.
