A Sampling of the Amazing Food from Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin

In 1959, 12 countries signed the Antarctic Treaty, which preserved the continent of Antarctica for peaceful purposes only. Since 1959, the number of countries that have signed the treaty has grown to 50. With so many countries a part of this beautiful continent, the cuisine that can be found there is quite diverse. This diversity inspired the menu for Expedition Café, our new, marketplace style restaurant in Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin. Racing for the Polar Regions: Pole to Pole 5K Fun Run

Environmental challenges, due to climate change, continue to face animals from both the North and South Poles every day. The community event helped promote the crucial work of Hubbs-SeaWorld Research Institute (HSWRI) and its positive impact in the polar regions of the globe. We waddled past penguins and dashed by dolphins (just to name a few) as we supported conservation efforts. Proceeds of the Fun Run benefited HSWRI.
