by Staff

A Risso’s dolphin that was brought to SeaWorld San Diego is being cared for around the clock by our animal care and veterinary team. Estimated to be about a year old, the male dolphin was found stranded on a beach in Long Beach, California and was taken to the Marine Mammal Care Center at Fort MacArthur where he was stabilized before being transported to our park. Without intervention, this animal would not have survived.

My Dolphin Friends

I felt happy as soon as I saw the dolphins playing with their trainer. I knew they would be happy to see me too.

Baby animals! Last November, I was overjoyed to watch Cascade, one of our experienced bottlenose dolphin moms, give birth to a healthy baby boy! Even after witnessing several dolphin births, I was one of the many people that got giddy and started cheering when the calf took his first breath.
