Mystery Goo Threatens Seabirds

In January 16, 2015, several species of seabirds began washing ashore along San Francisco's coastline. The substance covered the feathers of the birds, destroying their ability to stay warm, float, fly and locate food. Even more mysterious was the lack of this sticky substance on beaches or in the water where the sickly birds were found, creating an even bigger challenge for investigators.

Fun in the Sun with Miss California at SeaWorld San Diego

Miss California knows how important it is to visit a California landmark – SeaWorld San Diego! Leah Cecil, winner of the Miss California 2012 pageant, came by for a visit on Friday, Sept. 21 for some fun in the sun in the park. She stopped by our most-raved about attraction, Manta, where she touched California bat rays in the exhibit’s interactive touch pool, then rode on the double-launch roller coaster. Her verdict on the ride? “That was amazing!” She then made her way to Blue Horizons Stadium, home to bottlenose dolphins and short-finned pilot whales.

SeaWorld Assists with Orphaned Walrus Pups in Alaska

How do you bottle feed a baby walrus? SeaWorld’s Loren Fish, a keeper at the Wild Arctic exhibit, recently traveled to Alaska to assist with raising two orphaned walrus pups. Loren has helped raise five walrus pups over the years and shows us in this video just exactly how you get a walrus pup to take to a bottle. Pretty amazing!

Glory at the Gardens Kicks Off with Three Big Names

Starting this weekend, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay presents the biggest names in contemporary Christian, gospel and Christian rock music for Glory at the Gardens, a jam-packed festival of music and fellowship, in Gwazi Park.

The festival kicks off on Saturday, May 1, with Dove award-nominee Matthew West as well as Brandon Heath, who won the 2009 Dove Awards for Male Vocalist of the Year and Song of the Year, and Jonny Diaz.

Elementary Students Help SeaWorld Return Manatee Pair Back To Wild

SeaWorld Orlando returned a mom and calf manatee pair back to nature with the help of students from Fern Creek Elementary School. The kids received a hands-on conservation lesson as animal care specialists sent Mossback and her calf Eva into the waters of Blue Spring State Park in Orange City, FL.
