Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin, a unique, all-family adventure ride that combines 30-degree temperatures and nearly 250 penguins, is now open at SeaWorld Orlando!

In 1959, 12 countries signed the Antarctic Treaty, which preserved the continent of Antarctica for peaceful purposes only. Since 1959, the number of countries that have signed the treaty has grown to 50. With so many countries a part of this beautiful continent, the cuisine that can be found there is quite diverse. This diversity inspired the menu for Expedition Café, our new, marketplace style restaurant in Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin. Here is a sneak peek at some of the delicious food that you will find on your expedition:

Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin is opening in just seven days! And while it’s not quite open, we’d like to offer you a sneak peek at some of the cool gear you’ll be able to buy while on your expedition at SeaWorld Orlando.

At SeaWorld San Diego, our keepers, trainers, aquarists and veterinarians care for more than 5,000 marine animals. As part of SeaWorld’s commitment to the animals’ well being, they are monitored on a daily basis. They are also occasionally brought to our behind-the-scenes animal care facility for a more extensive checkup of their health. This occurs with sea lions, dolphins, penguins and sea otters, just to name a few. But did you know it can also include 6-foot spotted eagle rays (Aetobatus narinari)?
