Canine Companions for Independence Celebrates Graduates at SeaWorld Orlando

This past Saturday, Canine Companions for Independence kicked off their 40th anniversary at SeaWorld Orlando during their quarterly graduation ceremony inside the Nautilus Theater.

Fourteen teams of exceptional and inspiring people received a new leash on life with their Canine Companions assistance dog. These dogs will provide emotional and physical support to children in need as well as give independence to adults so they can live on their own.

Quarterly graduation ceremonies represent the culmination of hard work, love and dedication of hundreds of people, including puppy raisers, instructors, volunteers, and Canine Companions staff members and graduates.

For 40 years, Canine Companions for Independence has been enhancing the lives of people with disabilities by training and placing more than 4,680 assistance dogs with program graduates, including 119 dogs with wounded military veterans and more than 1,200 dogs with children. SeaWorld Orlando is proud to be a supporter of this amazing organization!
