On Oct. 5, 13 newly hatched sea turtles were discovered at SeaWorld's turtle exhibit.

By Oct. 6, a total of 63 turtles had hatched and were transferred to temporary holding areas. Since emerging from their nest, the turtles have been fed a combination of krill and squid. SeaWorld keepers are monitoring health, taking measurements and weights.
Data collected from monitoring the turtles will help answer pertinent biological questions about these endangered species. All sea turtles are considered endangered species. The sea turtles will eventually be on public display at SeaWorld.
This is the second time SeaWorld has successfully hatched sea turtles. The first successful hatching was in 2003.
